That's the way it sounds.

         My Mom used to tell me that my Grandma refused to pronounce my name
         Caron (care-en) like the name Karen.  Instead, she called me Car-on (like the
         automobile) because that was the way the name was spelled.  I never really knew
         my feisty Scottish Grandma as she died when I was three.  I have one faint
         memory of sitting on her knee at the kitchen table as she buttered some toast.

                                                      Grandma and Grampa Christie

         As a young girl learning to read, Mom and later my teachers would say "Just
         sound it out".  Well that was easy for words like cat and bee but what about
         knee, though and doubt?  And those homonyms are crazy; sew, so and sow;
         waist and waste and to, too and two!  The English language is a challenge with
         its prefixes, suffixes, phonetics, I before e except after c, silent letters,
         homophones and so much more.

         I decided to write this blog using "bad phonics" just for fun.  I will spell the
         words as they sound.  phonics: "a method of teaching people to read by
         correlating sounds with letters or groups of letters in an alphabetic writing
         system" Oxford Dictionary
